Senate President Bukola Saraki has summoned an emergency meeting of leaders of both chambers of the national assembly.
TheCable gathered that the lawmakers would meet at 12 noon on Tuesday to deliberate on some “crucial issues”.
Saraki and Yakubu Dogara, speaker of the house of reps, had adjourned plenary till September 25 following the siege laid on the residences of the nation’s number three citizen and Ike Ekweremadu, his deputy.
But the leadership of the assembly has come under pressure to reconvene parliament and consider some requests of the executive.
Ita Enang, an aide of President Muhammadu Buhari, had said failure to reconvene parliament could lead to a shutdown of government.
